Overview

The Council, through its Housing Needs Service, will carry out an initial assessment of any case where there is a complaint of harassment or illegal eviction. The Council officer will contact all parties to try and mediate and resolve any issues by telephone. If the Council's initial assessment concludes that a case requires ongoing investigation and casework, the case will then be referred to the Service Provider. The Council will carry out its mediation service over the telephone, the purpose of which will be to determine if the matter needs to be referred to the Service Provider.
