Overview
NPL require an annealing system to research graphene and 2D materials. This piece of equipment will be a key resource for graphene and 2D materials research, increasing the quality of the devices by accelerating the progress in the new 2D materials fabrication capability established at Quantum technology and for NPL to use in developing test and validation capability for these areas. Annealing is a standard technique used in 2D materials fabrication and characterisation centres to increase the quality of the samples, as well as to reduce the level of surface contamination.
