Overview

New Cut Canal Bridge carries the A642 over the Calder and Hebble Navigation in Horbury Bridge. The bridge is a single span masonry arch with reinforced concrete arch extension to the west side. The reinforced concrete arch was constructed in 1925 using the "Hennebique" system and was strengthened with a post tensioned reinforced concrete saddle in 1992. The refurbishment works to comprise: - • Masonry Section: comprising Arch intrados, east elevation (spandrels, parapet), north east and south east wing walls.
