The Torpoint Ferry Service is operated by the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee on behalf of Cornwall Council and Plymouth City Council. The Service operates 24/7, 365 days a year, linking Plymouth with South East Cornwall, utilising up to 3 Chain Ferries at peak times. The Ferries have been in service since 2004/5 and each ferry carries a maximum of 73 vehicles. The vessels require dry docking every 5 years to enable the classification society (Lloyds Register) to complete mandatory surveys and for the Marine Coastguard Agency (MCA) to complete inspections, both of which…
