The NPL requirement is a thermal cycle chamber for rapid increasing or decreasing temperature inside the chamber over a range of -70°C to 180°C with a minimum 10 °C/minute change rate. The purpose is to evaluate mechanical reliability of electronic circuits. The NPL requirement is to test thermo-mechanical reliability of electronic circuits by subjecting them to regular thermal excursions across an extended operational range.
