One of the two main car parks serving central Christchurch, this car park is on two levels separated by a retaining wall which is approximately 1.2m high. The wall is of uncertain age but is at least 100 years old. Recent extensive plant growth has caused extensive damage to the wall. Historically sensitive repairs and reconstruction are required to ensure future stability of the wall. The wall is located within the Christchurch conservation area, close to a scheduled ancient monument and near to the Christchurch heritage triangle.
