Essex County Council (ECC) is currently looking to procure a waste composition analysis service that analyses and helps the Authority to better understand the composition of residual waste both across the 12 Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) and the Authority’s 21 recycling centres. In collaboration with its partners, ECC is currently responsible for the handling of residual waste from roughly 650,000 households, or approximately 1.6 million people. Every year, around 700,000 tonnes of household waste are created in Essex, with 87% collected at the kerbside and 13% received at the Authority's recycling centres.
