Vertical Machining Centre

Lancaster University wishes to purchase a Vertical Machining Centre. This document has been prepared to set-out the University’s requirements and enable potential Suppliers to submit accurate proposals. The Engineering Department has seen a rapid expansion both in terms of academic appointments and student numbers. This expansion has led to an increase in the demands on the mechanical workshop facilitiy. The department has recognised that the quantity and complexity of parts needing manufacturing will require investment in new machine tools to enhance the current capabilities.
