Overview

Drivers’ license requirements for the towing of trailers have changed for drivers passing their test on or after 1st January 1997. To tow a trailer weighing more than 750 kilograms when the combined weight of the towing vehicle and trailer is more than 3,500 kilograms the driver will have to pass a further test in category B+E. This is going to affect Bolsover District Councils operational teams who have to use trailers to transport goods as part of their duties.
