Overview
GPS location data from vehicles is already successfully used by authorities for journey time monitoring - aggregating data from many vehicles to give an average value over a route. This project will use GPS data from individual vehicles as the approach traffic light stop lines, with Local Authority signal data to build 'signal trajectories'. It expands on the successful T-TRIG project already undertaken with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM). This project will broaden the scope by working with four different UK local authorities with an increased amount of GPS data.
