The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government published their Prospectus for the Government 'Towns Fund' in November 2019. This identified that Cornwall Council would be required to take on the role as "Lead Council" for the four towns in Cornwall (Penzance, St Ives, Camborne and Truro) that have been selected to participate in the first tranche of 100 towns that are being considered by Government to benefit from up to £25 million each to help their regeneration via a Town Investment Plan.
