Overview

The medical School wish to invest in a whole-slide scanner as a strategic step to create a digital archive that can be used for teaching and research. The technology, whole slides scanning, allows glass slides ? fragile and single ? to be converted into high quality digital images that will be stored electronically on a hard disc or server with the ability to replicate/copy/mirror, as required. These images can then be viewed by anyone with access to the world wide web.
