In this first year, STEP is seeking an academic partner, or consortium, to help establish a 4 year strategy for a national doctoral training programme in support of STEP aiming to have at least 150 graduated individuals by March 2024. Funding will also be provided for the management and delivery costs of an M-level taught-course programme in fusion science and technology, to be delivered to a cohort of doctoral students during the academic year 2019/20 as part of the overall strategy.
