Overview

The National Physical Laboratory [NPL] requirement is for a terahertz time-domain spectrometer to be used primarily for material characterisation. The instrument will be used to measure THz optical properties of a wide variety of materials and many different types of samples. It needs to be easily re-configurable for easy switching between measurements in transmission and reflection, and for different measurement configurations. The primary requirement is for a large measurement bandwidth and a large dynamic range in both time-domain and frequency-domain data.
