Overview

Through the work of the Early Intervention Foundation there is strong evidence that where conflict between parents - whether together or separated - is frequent, intense and poorly resolved it can harm children's outcomes. Since 2019 Sheffield City Council has been involved in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Reducing Parental Conflict Programme (RPC). The first round of funding developed a scoping exercise to understand the multi-agency needs around working with parents in conflict and training over 300 staff in recognising parental conflict and providing support to families.
