Overview
Since July 2020 NHSE/I have been running a dynamic, fast paced programme to focus on the elective backlog to aid recovery of elective services post Covid. The programme is centered on six surgical specialties (orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, gynaecology and general surgery) plus anaesthesia and peri-operative care. In the summer of 2020, the clinical community of London came together and agreed 29 standardised pathways.
