The purpose of the requirement is to: 1. Identify what participation means in the youth justice context 2. Identify examples of good participatory practice (including co-creation with children) and meaningful engagement with children 3. Determine what methods and techniques are currently being used in relation to participation and co-creation with children 4. Develop resources to increase children's involvement in processes and decisions which affect them, which are bespoke to different elements of the youth justice system 5. Identify what lessons can be learned and disseminated to other YOTs
