The requirement is for an Operational Ration Heater System (ORHS) which consists of portable metal stoveand solid fuel blocks to enable an individual to boil water and heat military field rations in a range of weatherconditions. The solid fuel must be Ethanol based (Bio-Fuel) any other fuels such as Hexamine will not beaccepted. 1: Heating Performance - The ORHS must be capable of boiling 500ml water to a temperature of 100C instandard issue MOD equipment (mess tins) within 11 minutes at an air temperature of -8C to +40C and sustainthe temperature for a period of 5 minutes. 2: Tactical Performance - The ORHS must function within 10 minutes of being immersed in water, this is to allowindiv…
