The mandated function requires each Local Authority to provide, or secure the provision of, open access sexual health services in its area including preventing the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), treating, testing and caring for people with STIs and partner notification. This also includes making arrangements to cover service users from outside the Local Authority boundary .
