Overview
NHS Supply Chain currently operates on an outsourced basis and the contract is due to expire in October 2018. In preparation for the expiry of this contract, the Authority is working with Trusts and other relevant stakeholders to produce a Future Operating Model (FOM) for procurement and logistics within the NHS. The intention is to prepare an Outline Business Case (OBC) by the end of this calendar year. To date a formal shortlisting exercise has been undertaken in which 5 options have been identified, and good progress has been made on the drafting of the relevant text.
