Moving and Handling People Training

To assist Bury Council's Adult Care Services Department to meet its statutory responsibilities in relation to the safer moving and handling of people in line with the Council's moving and handling policy. This is achieved by ensuring all employees have sufficient instruction, information, training and supervision to allow them to demonstrate correct manual handling skills appropriate to the needs of their workplace and to achieve a balance between encouraging the independence and dignity of the person receiving the care or support, whilst ensuring that employees are not required to perform tasks that put themselves and the people supported at risk unreasonably.
