Overview

Pupils in primary schools undertake National Curriculum assessments which are a series of education assessments used to assess the attainment of children in schools in England. They comprise of a mixture of teacher-led and test-based assessments depending on the age of the pupils and are undertaken at the end of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (statutory at KS2, optional at KS1). Hull City Council has a statutory duty to monitor assessments and to moderate a proportion of these assessments in order to confirm that the teacher assessment judgements are accurate and consistent with national standards.
