Mechanics Institute Culvert Replacement Works

Replacement of an existing arch bridge with precast concrete culverts and stone/ brickwork to form new parapets. The works briefly comprise: Protection of statutory undertakers apparatus Temporary works to control the watercourse Excavation and removal to tip of surfacing, the brick arch and existing fill material. Retaining the existing stone voussoirs for reuse Forming of foundation for new culvert units Installing new culvert units, including waterproofing and joint sealing Building up headwalls using existing stone voussoirs and Class A engineering bricks Backfill to the culvert units including inside the culvert units Road construction including kerbing and surfacing.
