APHA is an executive agency working on behalf of Defra, Scottish Government and Welsh Government. APHA is responsible for animal health and welfare and the regulatory and enforcement aspects of plant health and bee health. In the event of an Animal Health Outbreak and some BAU scenarios, disposal and transport services are required to deal with the disposal of livestock carcasses following a cull operation. The Authority is seeking to appoint suppliers to a new framework to commence in September 2020.
