Overview

Cumbria County Council is committed to making sure members of the public can access our services. As part of its public sector equality duty under the Equality Act 2010 the Council has to remove or minimise disadvantages suffered by people due to their protected characteristics, therefore in order to support customers whose first language is not English interpretation and translation services should be available. The Translation and Interpretation service may be required by all departments of the Council yet a number of Council services have historically placed a higher demand on the need for a Translation and Interpretation Service
