As required by Article 16 of EU Directive 2014/40/EU and the associated Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/576 of 15 December 2017 on technical standards for security features applied to tobacco products HMRC will be defining the elements that will be used to develop security features applied to tobacco products manufactured in, or imported into, the UK. This Prior Information Notice is to notify interested parties of an information day in Manchester on 07.06.18 where suppliers can inform HMRC about their technologies and capabilities.
