Genetic Improvement Network (GIN) Platform

The Authority is seeking to procure the Genetic Improvement Networks (GINs) Platform, which will undertake research and development (R&D) to enable the genetic improvement of major UK crops. The overarching focus of this Platform is the delivery of agri-environmental public goods. The GINs will enable the development of new information and resources for the sector, including novel pre-breeding material containing characteristics such as improved tolerance to existing and emerging priority pests and diseases, increased nitrogen-use efficiencies and greater resilience to the pressures which come with climate change.
