Overview
The Main House is predominately glazed with float glass that is comparatively weak that forms into sharp shards when it breaks. Many years ago a project had been completed to install a safety film to some of the risk glazing to upgrade the safety of the glass to meet the requirements of the Workplace Regulation 14. However the random tests found most of this film was very old or poor initial quality and had either degraded offering little base film strength or was failing through lack of adhesion to the glass.
