Covid-19 has caused widespread disruption across the global aviation industry and subsequently affected global travel trends. The DfT requires access to a detailed dataset on flight schedules to monitor the capacity of the aviation sector and respond to any business-critical disruption in air transport, including the Covid-19 pandemic. To both anticipate and identify disruptions to flights, the DfT requires detailed information about flight schedules at UK and overseas airports in an accessible format which is easy to analyse.
