Overview
Sections 18 and 19 of the Financial Guidance and Claims Act 2018 set out a requirement for a stronger final nudge towards pensions guidance at the point when a consumer applies to access or transfer their pension savings, so as to make receiving Pension guidance from the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) the default position. The Act provides a framework with the details of this 'final nudge' left to be worked out. As a result, MaPS is running a project to explore and test different approaches to conducting the final nudge process.
