Enhanced Services - Optometry

Community Urgent and Minor Eye Service Enables patients to self-refer to an Optometrist of choice in the Community when they have a minor eye condition. Service provides care to patients for a range of minor eye conditions and has the ability to refer directly into Hospital Eye Services if clinically indicated. It reduces the burden on General Practice, Hospital Eye Services and provides care closer to home for patients. Continuation will ensure much-needed stability to services that are under sustained pressure and which are fundamental in supporting Hospital Eye Services.
