Overview
In 2018, the Department for Education (DfE) awarded West Midlands Combined Authority £5m as part of its Skills Deal to develop and test Digital Skills bootcamps. These bootcamps were designed to help unemployed, economically inactive and career changers in the WMCA administrative area to enter digital roles beyond entry-level. Bootcamps were also used to support employed residents to gain the skills required to secure more digital responsibility or promotion within their existing employment.
