Overview
Kingsmead School are a school within the DfE Decarbonisation pilot. Initially, the school was to receive a Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) from the Decarbonisation project, and were included in the feasibility stages of the project. The feasibilities, however, concluded that the school was not suitable for a GSHP. There was not sufficient space to drill boreholes in the school site. Exploration work was done at the time to analyse the possibility of utilising neighbouring Council land for the boreholes, which was refused.
