Background: There is an increasing body of evidence that having a Model of Practice, a theory-based framework that supports professional practice, is a key factor in developing an effective children's service that supports families and communities.  Devon County Council (DCC) have recently agreed a strategy for adopting a restorative practice approach with motivational interviewing as a tool for working with children and families. DCC will develop our 'in-house' social care workforce, including early help services as well as statutory social work, to be confident and competent in working with children and their families using a restorative practice approach, which will include motivational…
