The Authority requires a solution that allows use by staff of North Yorkshire County Council, the City of York and North Yorkshire Police. Further information is contained within Section 2: The Specification. There are three Coroners areas and 2 Senior Coroners in post (as of April 2019). North Yorkshire has approximately 1600 cases per year and City Of York has 600 cases per year. One Senior Coroner covers both North Yorkshire (East) and North Yorkshire (West) but as separate jurisdictions. It is highly possible that in 2020, these 3 areas will merge into one.
