Citizens Jury on Climate Change

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council Declared a Climate Emergency in July 2019 and set an objective for the Borough to be carbon neutral by 2030. The Council's Climate Emergency Action Plan was published in February 2020 and updated in December 2021. The Council would like to engage with residents, who have an important role to play in informing the development of the Action Plan. The Council would like to hold a Citizens' Inquiry to enable a representative group of residents to draw up recommendations on what they, the Council and other sectors should be doing to tackle the Climate Emergency and achieve the goal of a carbon neutral borough by 2030.
