Overview

The works consist of the removal and replacement of a series of defective fire doors. To undertake upgrading of the fire stopping and fire walls. To erect a fire lobby and to install directional exit signage, all within the roof void of the Central Library. The extent of the works is laid out within the Schedule of Works and are summarised below: Within Milton Keynes Central Library roof void, there are 2 types of fire break walls, these being: Wall type 1 - are the original Lightweight timber stud wall (double wall) with a 12mm plasterboard panels sandwiched in between.
