Cumberland Council has various sized Extra Care Housing schemes within its area. The extra care schemes are made up of self-contained units which comprise of a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and 1 or 2 bedrooms. Each scheme will have a communal area such as a lounge, café, or activity room. Extra Care Housing Schemes provide an onsite care team 24/7 to ensure the care and support for people residing within the schemes in Cumberland can meet planned and unplanned assessed care needs to enable people to live as independently as possible.
