Overview

Round length planning is the procedure to ensure the interval between breast screening and invitation for the next screen is 36 months for all eligible people. The round plan sets out how the service manages to screen all its eligible population (demand), with the capacity available (resource, staff, and unit availability). At present breast screening staff conduct multi-faceted and time-consuming processes which are often manual and involve multiple steps with dependencies on several different systems.
