Overview
Buildings 268/270 provide an essential science facility (large animal husbandry) to APHA and Defra as a whole. It was licensed to ACDP3/SAPO3 in 2007, however, compliance with key ACDP and SAPO regulations requiring 'viewing windows' throughout the facility was not possible due to the building design. A closed-circuit television (CCTV) system was therefore installed in order to monitor animal wellbeing and staff safety but this was only in the animal rooms and not in corridors and other animal areas.
