The Borough Council is working with an innovative designer on an interim venue to be used to generate awareness of a local Newcastle-under-Lyme hero Philip Astley and celebrate his life and contribution to the modern day circus. The centre is intended to appeal to everyone, from young children to older adults. It will be used by the general public, school groups, community groups and for education and outreach. The centre will display permanent exhibits relating to Philip Astley, his contribution to circus and also celebrate the wider circus landscape.
