Overview

The General Medical Council (GMC) is the independent regulator for doctors in the UK. Our role is to protect patients. This includes promoting high standards of medical education and practice across the UK, deciding which doctors are qualified to work in the UK and taking appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the List of Registered Medical Practitioners. We are aiming to implement a flexible software solution to deliver all the GMC's assessments: our Applied Knowledge Test (AKT), Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA), Tests of Competence (TOC) and Revalidation Assessments, and the new Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA).
