Overview

Following a full review of the international travel approval process in 2019, a risk assessment process was implemented to record and analyse travel risks and a tiered approval was introduced. The International Travel Risk assessments are undertaken in an excel document which is based on traveller self-declaration and the relevant approver sufficiently understanding the risks to approve the travel. Whilst the current process is effective in identifying and mitigating travel risks, users do not always enter sufficient details and incorrectly rate travel safety and security risks.
