Overview
Wigan Council and the people of the Borough have been working together to develop plans for two COVID-19 memorials, in the form of 'places of reflection'. We want to acknowledge the enormous loss, as well as the inspirational and admirable contribution that local communities have made. We want to recognise the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and help people to look to the future. Two sites have been identified for the projects including: 1. Mesnes field, Off Mesnes Park Terrace, adjacent to Wigan Youth Zone Wigan, WN1 1SU; and 2. Lilford park, Westrees, Leigh, WN7 1JE.
