A new housing development in Thurcroft, South Yorkshire called the 'The Hedgerows' has enabled the release of Section 106 monies to fund a community environmental/public arts project for the area. Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council would like to commission this project. Thurcroft is an ex-mining rural village and civil parish situated southeast of Rotherham in South Yorkshire. As of 2011, Thurcroft had a population of 5226 in 2294 properties. On completion, the Hedgerows will add a further 450 houses which represents a 19% increase.
