Southampton City Council have an annual calendar for the rotation of Vehicle Activated Signs. As the Highway Authority, Southampton City council are legally required to review and undertake road safety measures where identified. The use of vehicle activated signs displaying '30mph or 20mph SLOW' are used as part of road safety programme in line with Hampshire Constabulary and neighbouring local authorities.
