According to the 2021 census, one in five people aged 50-64 are Disabled. This group are significantly less likely to be in employment than those without a disability - around 48% of Disabled 50-64s are in employment, compared with around 80% of those without a disability. Older Disabled workers are at risk of getting left behind by all-age disability employment initiatives: just 18% of participants on the Work and Health programme in their 60s gets a job.
