he Molecular Biology Laboratory at RBG Kew needs to purchase an "inhouse upgrade" for the Sanger Sequencer (3730). Currently the sequencer is not operational due to the failure of the laser. The installed laser and laser power supply in this machine were 11 years old. The laser type currently installed has been discontinued by its manufacturer, as there are better, more energy-efficient lasers available.
