The objective of this project is to assess the water resource benefits (and other multiple benefits) of modelling Nature-based solutions (NBS) measures across Chalk catchments. This is predominantly a desk-based numerical model study, although future work may progress to trialling some NBS measures. The outputs of this project are required to embed the Groundwater and NBS concept into the catchment approach and improve water resources (i.e. increased soil infiltration rates, groundwater recharge rates, aquifer storage and summer base-flows) across Chalk catchments.
