The present contract refers to the pre-surcharging exercise. The purpose of the investigation is to construct and monitor a single trial embankment, of similar dimensions and specifications to the main surcharging operations. The pre-surcharging embankment shall be designed and specified using the current knowledge of geology and ground conditions. The aim of the exercise is to update the existing ground model and ground parameters, to account for any potential improvement imposed by the site history.
